Laser Lipo Advantages
Luckily, it is not absolutely necessary to know everything about lipo techniques. A large part of a plastic surgeon’s training is pinpointing the right kind of surgery for each patient, discussing why they have chosen a specific format for each person, customizing the surgery plan, and guiding each person through it. Still, it helps to know the difference between the terms; even if it is just to familiarize ourselves with our investment. Besides, we should want to understand, and actively participate in our treatment.
The term ‘Liposuction’ is used, in its broadest sense to describe any fat cell removal (Lipo = fat) with a cannula. A cannula is the medical term for the fat suctioning wand that is used to glide under the skin and remove the unwanted fat. Essentially the terms are the same, but are used to denote the amount of fat that is removed during a procedure. When surgeons differentiate, it is – liposuction can be any amount of fat, and is generally used to remove bulk – and any level of invasiveness – from tiny, to the deeper fat levels. Laser lipo techniques and technologies allow surgeons to get more refined results. Less invasive methods are used when the procedure is more superficial – staying in the upper fat level and putting “small finishing touches” of contouring in place, rather than addressing a larger quantity, and leaving the lower fat levels undisturbed. It may benefit you to do some homework before liposuction to learn which device would best suit your fat removal and skin tightening needs.
